At Puratos, our responsibility goes beyond the ingredients we create. By focusing on education and community, as well as on social development, we aim to create more value for society by addressing issues of inequality. This includes addressing disparities in access to educational resources, ensuring a living income, and improving healthcare access.
For over a decade, we have driven impact through the Bakery School Foundation and the certified Cacao-Trace programme, supported by the Next Generation Cocoa Foundation.
The Bakery School Foundation was created to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds build a future through professional bakery education. The first Bakery School opened in India in 2014, and the initiative has since expanded worldwide.
Our Commitment is to train 1,000 students annually by 2030.
Through Bakery Schools around the world, students receive practical training in bakery, patisserie and chocolate, helping them develop valuable skills and access new professional opportunities.
Together with local partners, customers and communities, the Foundation supports students beyond the classroom by helping create pathways toward employment and long-term development.
The schools combine technical learning with hands-on experience, allowing students to develop confidence, craftsmanship and practical industry knowledge in a professional environment.
Beyond education itself, the Bakery School Foundation aims to contribute to stronger communities, support social inclusion and help prepare the next generation of bakery professionals.

Cacao-Trace™ is our sustainable cocoa programme built around one simple idea: improving cocoa quality while generating more value for cocoa farming communities.
Our mission is to create a sustainable future for the cocoa chain, and everyone involved.
By improving cocoa quality and flavour through fermentation expertise and post-harvest practices, Cacao-Trace creates additional value that is shared with cocoa farmers.
Our certified programme is built on long-term partnerships with farming communities, combining training, quality support and responsible sourcing practices.
The value created through higher-quality cocoa is redistributed to farmers through two key mechanisms:
Beyond improving cocoa quality and traceability, Cacao-Trace contributes to stronger farming communities, supports responsible farming practices and helps build a more sustainable cocoa supply chain. We aim to continue increasing the value returned to cocoa farming communities and reach a total Chocolate Bonus of €8 million by 2030.
Investing in future generations Through initiatives like Cacao-Trace and the Bakery School Foundation, we continue working toward a more sustainable and inclusive future for the communities connected to our industry.
