I joined Puratos in August 2022 after a friend recommended the company. I’d been working in injection moulding in Buckingham, but I was looking for somewhere I could genuinely progress. The stability, the trust Puratos puts in its people, and the focus on development made it an easy decision.
I started as a Production Operative in Buckingham and quickly rotated across mixers, packing lines, and batch work. If there was training available, I was first in the queue. That helped me move into my current role as Team Leader in the new wet plant, which has been a fantastic step in my career.
To prepare for the role, I spent ten days in the Netherlands overseeing factory tests for our new production line. It was handson, fastpaced, and inspiring to work with colleagues in the Netherlands, their stories fuelled my passion for the job. I also trained with the Liverpool wet plant team, picking up valuable knowledge that I’ve brought back to Buckingham.
Being part of the wet plant from day one has been incredibly rewarding, watching it grow from a building site into a fully functioning operation. What excites me about the new plant is being able to see first-hand the beginning of a great factory. I take pride that I have been able to play a part in that journey and I’m excited to see it delivering delicious products for customers.
My job is to guide my team so we get products right first time and on time. Food safety and health and safety are nonnegotiable, and customer care sits at the heart of everything we do. My background — from catering to taking on unofficial leadership responsibilities in previous roles — taught me how to communicate clearly, stay organised, and handle whatever challenges come our way.
What I love most about my job is the people. My team is supportive, genuine, and always up for a laugh. Even on the busiest days, they make work enjoyable. It feels like a closeknit family, and that’s something I really treasure.
Dark moist cake… although since joining the wet plant, I’ve developed a new love for caramel.
