The production of cocoa has increased over the last 40 years. We understand that the current farming practices are unsustainable to keep up to this rising demand. Aging farms, the current aging farmer community and the uninterest of next younger generations provides many challenges for the future supply-demand imbalance.
The Next Generation Cocoa Foundation is the non-prfit organisation behind the Cacao-Trace programme. The mission of the foundation created in 2016 is to collect the 'chocolate bonus' to contribute to the social, economical and environmental development and redistribute it to the cocoa farmers and communities.
If the income ot the farmers increases, cocoa farming will continue to be an attractive line of business for them to pass down to their children so as to gurantee a promising future.
We are keen to make positive contributions in the long term in the countries in which we operate.
