Matt joined the Puratos team in 2011 as an application specialist for patisserie and has subsequently taken on the role of NPD manager for patisserie and chocolate, alongside running the Fringford Innovation Centre. He is passionate about all food, especially the rise and fall of product trends. With this in mind, he has spent the last 16 years working across categories including ambient, chilled, sweet and savoury to increase his knowledge and understanding of trends and deliver the best products to customers.
Vicci joined the Puratos NPD team in April 2019. Prior to this, she had run her own cake business for 13 years, both in the UK and in Australia. During her time in Australia, she wrote a regular blog for British Baker magazine, looking at global trends in cake. On her return to the UK, she continued to write about setting up a business, giving help and guidance to other new starters through the magazine and also hosted interactive workshops. Her passion is everything cake and even her hobby time is taken up with sugarcraft!
Georgia developed a passion for food and cooking from an early age. She studied Culinary Arts Management at university and through that found a love for NPD. The challenge of working on new briefs and projects daily gives her excitement. Previously working as a chef, Georgia joined Fruitapeel in March 2016 which was acquired by Puratos in December 2017. In her spare time, she loves a good pub quiz, dog walking, reading and all things foodie!
Imogen joined Puratos in November 2015, managing the R&D for patisserie mixes, adapting product formulars and technologies. She then specialised in water-based fillings in 2017 and became recognised as an expert in filling formulations, specifically; cream; fruit; chocolate; icings; glazes; and ganaches. After training for 4 months at Puratos Lummen fillings factory to gain comprehensive knowledge of formulations and processes and production capabilities, she returned to manage the R&D support team and lead the development of R&D processes for the newly acquired UK fillings production site Simonswood in 2018. Finally, she repositioned to powder blend patisserie mixes in 2020, establishing the channel’s focus and strategy. Her inquisitive nature means that she enjoys learning about ingredient functionalities; how components interact and react within the specific matrices and testing novel formulations. Outside of working, she enjoys yoga; pilates; reading; testing new recipes & exploring dog friendly pubs & walks in the Cotswolds.
Lydia joined Puratos in April 2003 and has been part of the team for 18 years. Her career began in the customer service office in charge of selling butter. Daily contact with customers meant she gained a great understanding of Puratos’ customer needs and their extensive product range. Having studied marketing and psychology at university, she quickly moved into the marketing department, undertaking many roles from event organisation to the creation of Puratos UK’s website and the launch of their social media platforms. In 2017 she launched the Puratos UK Trend report and discovered a real passion for food and consumer trends. Over the last few years, the report has evolved to the NOW normal report which is shared with Puratos’ customers twice a year. Food trends are part of her life. In particular, ethics and sustainability are very important to her as an avid vegan and part of the Puratos UK CSR team.
